Here Comes the Rain

Well, by now you probably know that Miss Erin is into everything environmental. Ok, I have to admit that the organic kitty crunchies aren't quite as tasty as powdered white sugar doughnuts. But hey, she has my best interests at heart. I just wish she wouldn't make me eat in the kitchen. I so what if I want to scratch my ears off?

Anyway, the rain barrels are done. Whew. What a job. You would think she thinks I'm an engineer. "Lenny, do you think that looks straight? Lenny, How much water do you think that will hold. Oh Lenny, does it feel like rain to you?"

Yup. Sure does look like rain.
Miss Erin wants me to let you know you can find the easy instructions on YouTube. What the heck is YouTube? Anyway, here is the link http://tinyurl.com/3vgyxu I assume you know what to do with it. That's what I have a Human for. Oh yeah, and the doughnuts.

Time for me to take my spot under the RV before she decides I need to be in the house. Anything but in the house. Don't coop me up. I love the great outdoors and the furry little kitty multivitamins I can catch on a good day.

Hey, it's the food chain!

My New Friend Ernie

Tropical storm Hanna blew through our neck of the woods yesterday, which meant I was cooped up in the RV all day. My sister Grummy and I promised we would get along but Erin didn't take us seriously and banished us to our own spaces. Lucky me, I got the luxury RV. Ha. Got you little sis'.
Today was beautiful. I got up and did my stretches. Ate a hearty helping of crunchy kibble and set off to help Erin and Rick with an environmental project.
Miss Erin dragged home two big, black barrels. Today, we turned them into rain barrels to water the garden.
I can just about smell the catnip now. Ahhhhh. At least, I hope she plants catnip. Knowing her, it will probably be lettuce, or kale, or something else just as dreadfully healthy.
Anyway, I was really tuckered out from moving all that stuff around. When I went to find a spot to rest, I saw Ernie, the Northern Water Snake.
Of course Ernie was being such a poser. He puffed out his jaw and hissed and struck. What a Napoleon complex.
I tried to tell him to chill but it was too late, Erin scooped him up between two sticks and popped him into a bucket. Poor Ernie. I wasn't sure if she was going to put him in a cage or eat him. You'll be glad to know she didn't fry him up for dinner. You never know.
Eventually, when she got tired of him she let him go in the woods.
Bye-bye Ernie, come back to visit when the big guys are gone.
Well, it's time for a short sleep. So, if the dew falls on the zoyzia grass and the crickets don't keep me up all night chirping, I'll be back soon to show you how our project turned out.

Hello Hanna

Hey, I was sleeping here. What's all the fuss about? Could you keep it down? Geez, a cat can't catch a break. The sun is shining. The air is warm. And I had just found the perfect spot in the front flowerbed to snooze off my breakfast.
Oh. "Move Lenny," Erin says. "Hurry up. Chop Chop."
Okay already, I'm movin' as fast as I can.
Well folks, things are in full swing here. Seems we are sitting in the path of some big storm named Hanna. It has all these big 'uns scrambling. They are haulin' in water. Wait, I didn't see any kitty treats. Guys, What about the Kitty treats?
I guess they didn't hear me.
Here comes the big tanks that go on the grill. Maybe they are planning to make me some fish for dinner. NOT. Miss Erin never lets me eat the fun stuff. It's always healthy, healthy, smealthy. Wait. Fish IS healthy. I'll probably still get kitty kibble.
I'm just going to find another place to chill until they get done with whatever it is they have planned. I'm sure they will let me know if they need me.
Somebody needs to stock up on powdered doughnuts. I'm sure I saw that listed in the get ready guide. Okay, I hear you. No, I can't read. I made it up. I just want powdered doughnuts already.
So, if my kitty condo doesn't blow away and Miss Erin doesn't pack us all in the RV and run for the hills, I'll be back soon to fill you in on all the excitement in my neck of the woods.

Happy Labor Day! Meow, it was a good one. I got me a hot dog. No silly, the kind made of yummy...parts. Who knows what's really in them? I don't care; they sure are good. Even with the circle tree gone, the sun wasn't too hot to enjoy the picnic. We'll soon enogh have a new tree--a "George Tree". From what the big 'uns say, it's a type of maple, but what does a feline know? I know I like hot dogs. Got my tummy full and slept it off in the flowerbed. Rick still gave a super helping of kitty crunchies tonight. Guess it's 'cause I helped him in the workshop tonight. I helped supervise adding salt to the swimming pool too. You would think that would rate a doughnut or two. Not.
I met two young ladies who moved into my old house. Can't wait to sneak in and see if THEY have doughnuts.Afterall, they did bring cake. The chicks have taste. I wonder if they like middle-aged cats with an itch or two? Better be careful, Erin might get jealous.
Well, if the sun comes up tomorrow, and I still crave powdered doughnuts, I'll be back to tell you how things are going in the neighborhood. Meow for now.
